The Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) has posted on its website advance copies of a notice to published in the Federal Register that announces USTR’s determination to make certain technical amendments to previously granted exclusions to Tranche 1 ($34 Bn.) and a separate notice to be published in the Federal Register that announces USTR’s determination to make certain technical amendments to previously granted exclusions to Tranche 2 (16 Bn). The technical amendments announced in the notices are retroactive to the date the original exclusions were published and do not further extend the period for the original exclusions. US Customs and Border Protection will issue instructions on entry guidance and implementation.
- In the Tranche 1 notice, Subparagraph A of the Annex makes 2 technical amendments to U.S. notes 20(q)(184), and 20(q)(228) to subchapter III of chapter 99 of the HTSUS, as set out in the Annex of the notice published at 84 FR 49564 (September 20, 2019)
- In the Tranche 2 notice, Subparagraph A of the Annex makes 4 technical amendments to U.S. notes 20(v)(2), 20(v)(8), 20(v)(78), and 20(y)(83) to subchapter III of chapter 99 of the HTSUS, as set out in the Annexes of the notice published at 84 FR 49600 (September 20, 2019) and 84 FR 52553 (October 2, 2019).
