On 2 June 2017, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) adopted Resolution 2356 (2017) on the DPR Korea (North Korea) which condemns in the strongest terms the nuclear weapons and ballistic missile development activities including a series of ballistic missile launches and other activities conducted by the DPRK since 9 September 2016 in violation and flagrant disregard of the Security Council’s resolutions. The UNSC decided that the measures (asset freeze) specified in paragraph 8 (d) of resolution 1718 (2006) shall apply to the 14 individuals and four entities listed in Annex I and II of the resolution and to any individuals or entities acting on their behalf or at their direction, and to entities owned or controlled by them, including through illicit means, and that the measures specified in paragraph 8 (e) of resolution 1718 (2006) (travel ban) shall apply to the individuals listed in Annex I of the resolution and to individuals acting on their behalf or at their direction.
