On 6 October 2016, the Eurasian Economic Commission announced that the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and its Member States and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam entered into force on 5 October 2016. The UK government is planning to hold joint economic and trade committee meetings with Brazil, India, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam by the end of 2016. On 20 January 2015, the European Commission announced that the EU-Kazakhstan Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement was initialed.
