On August 21, 2019, the Department of State published in the Federal Register a notice of receipt of request [Public Notice: 10859] from Morocco for cultural property protection under Article 9 of the 1970 UNESCO Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property. State received this request on June 12 , 2019. Morocco’s request seeks US import restrictions on archaeological and ethnological material representing Morocco’s cultural patrimony. Pursuant to the authority vested in the Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs, and pursuant to 19 U.S.C. 2602(f)(1), notification of the request is hereby published.
