On August 20, 2020, the US Department of State published in the Federal Register a notice [Public Notice: 11185] of receipt of request from Nigeria for cultural property protection under Article 9 of the 1970 UNESCO Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property.
