On August 10, 2016, the Department of State published in the Federal Register a notice [Public Notice: 9668] of Proposal to Extend the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus Concerning the Imposition of Import Restrictions on Pre-Classical and Classical Archaeological Objects and Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Period Ecclesiastical and Ritual Ethnological Materials (US – Cyprus MOU), as the Government of Cyprus has informed the U.S. Government of its interest in an extension. Pursuant to the authority vested in the Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs, and pursuant to 19 U.S.C. 2602(f)(1), an extension of the US – Cyprus MOU is hereby proposed.
