WCO – Working Group on E-Commerce finalises the Framework of Standards on Cross-Border E-Commerce

On 16 April 2018, the WCO announced that the WCO Working Group on E-Commerce (WGEC) met for the 3rd time at the WCO headquarters in Brussels from 9 to 12 April 2018. The announcement said the meeting brought together more than 150 delegates from Customs administrations, other government agencies, the private sector, other international organizations, e-vendors/platforms, express service providers, postal operators, freight forwarders, Customs brokers and academia to mainly discuss and develop a ‘Framework of Standards on Cross-Border E-Commerce’.

WCO – Agenda for 61st HSC session published

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has published the Agenda for the 61st session of the WCO Harmonized System Committee (HSC) in the Customs Bulletin and Decisions dated February 14, 2018. The HSC session will be held from 6 March 2018 through 16 March 2018, with a Professional Working Party session scheduled from 1 March through 5 March.

On 1 February 2018, the World Customs Organization (WCO) announced that the Harmonized System Committee (HSC) held its 60th Session at WCO Headquarters in Brussels from 27 September to 6 October 2017. The decisions taken by the HSC during this session have now been published on the WCO website. The announcement said:

WCO completes 60th session of HSC

On 9 October 2017, the WCO announced that the Harmonized System Committee (HSC) held its 60th Session from 27 September to 6 October 2017 at WCO Headquarters in Brussels. The session was attended by 169 participants representing 78 Contracting Parties to the HS Convention, one WCO Member administration and three international organizations. WCO issues updated annex to WCO Guide for Technical Update of Preferential Rules of Origin

On 16 January 2017, the World Customs Organization announced that Annex III (2012-2017) to the ‘WCO Guide for Technical Update of Preferential Rules of Origin’ has been added to reflect the recent changes in the Correlation Tables HS 2012 – 2017. Annex I correlates HS 200-HS 2007. Annex II correlates HS 2007 and HS 2012.

Norway – 2017 Tariff published

On 28 December 2016, the Norwegian Law Gazette website, Lovdata, posted Ministry of Finance Regulations on New and Modified Divisions of the Nomenclature as adopted by the Customs Directorate on 12 December 2016, pursuant to authority delegated by the Storting (Parliament). The Regulation has the 2017 Nomenclature attached. The Nomenclature includes the 2017 import tariffs, import and export controls and additional information. It is effective from 1 January 2017.
