On March 22, 2019, the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) published in the Federal Register a notice that announces the effective date for modifications to the rules of origin for certain goods of Morocco under the United States-Morocco Free Trade Agreement (USMFTA) that were modified in December 2018 by Presidential Proclamation 9834. On March 4, 2019, Morocco notified the United States that it had completed its domestic procedures to give effect to the agreement to change the USMFTA rules of origin for certain apparel goods of specified fabrics with respect to goods of the United States. Subsequently, Morocco and the United States agreed to implement these changes with respect to each other’s eligible goods, effective April 1, 2019.
