On January 31, 2019, the Department of State published in the Federal Register a notice of receipt of request from the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under Article 9 of the 1970 UNESCO Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property [Public Notice 10647]. State received this request on November 26, 2018. Jordan’s request seeks US import restrictions on archaeological material representing Jordan’s cultural patrimony.
