On December 19, 2018, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published in the Federal Register a final rule [Docket No. FDA–2000–N–0011] establishing January 1, 2022, as the uniform compliance date for food labeling regulations that are published on or after January 1, 2019, and on or before December 31, 2020. The FDA periodically announces uniform compliance dates for new food labeling requirements to minimize the economic impact of label changes. The rule is effective December 20, 2018. Electronic or written comments may be submitted by February 19, 2019.
