The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) recently issued proposals for two new programs that will affect food imports. The proposed programs implement certain requirements in the 2011 Food Safety Modernization Act and greatly strengthen the oversight of imported food and require industry to share responsibility, and be accountable, for food safety. |
