On March 5, 2019, the Federal Register published Presidential Notice of March 4, 2019 Continuation of the National Emergency With Respect to Zimbabwe which extends for an additional year the national emergency first declared by Executive Order (EO) 13288 (March 6, 2003). Additional steps were taken in EO 13391 (November 22, 2005) and EO 13469 (July 25, 2008). The national emergency is being extended because the actions and policies of the persons addressed in these Executive Orders continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.
